Canon National Bank was established on October 23, 1974, under the original name Empire National Bank. In 1985, the institution underwent a name change to Canon National Bank. The bank expanded its footprint by acquiring Greenhorn Valley Bank located in Colorado City, Colorado, on July 14, 1997.
