Cambridge Savings Bank is a banking institution established on April 2, 1834, originally under the name Cambridge Savings Bank. The bank underwent several significant changes throughout its history, including the acquisition of North Avenue Savings Bank in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on June 10, 1971, which coincided with a change in its institutional name to Cambridge Savings Bank. It later acquired Bank Five for Savings in Arlington, Massachusetts, on September 20, 1991, and subsequently modified its trust powers from limited to full on July 17, 2002. In 1998, the organization type was changed to a stock savings bank. Cambridge Savings Bank made a notable acquisition of Melrose Bank in Melrose, Massachusetts, on June 1, 2020.
