Very unhelpful.
My problem is not necessarily with the people at any branch and I've interacted with three branches in the 20 years I've had an account with CBT and there are a lot of good people I've worked with. The truth is they aren't really a "local" bank though because much of the gears of the machine are located in Salt Lake City. In the last five years these out of state folks have zealously locked my bank account and credit card at the slightest provocation--If I did anything out of my regular spending habits expect to have it blocked (i.e birthday gifts, a meal 4 hours away, etc.) I even tried calling ahead to let them know recently, and just because I called, they thought it was "suspicious" and blocked the account anyway! You just can't win. :( It wasn't always like this, but the last four years have been pretty bad and has made life inconvenient and stressful. So I'd try to dissuade anyone from banking with CBT, I for one am switching banks.
I was greeted kindly and had no problems cashing my payroll check in the lobby. The customer service was excellent! Was in and out in no time! No long exhausting lines to stand in like B.of A.!
I used to like this bank till I came there to get them notarize document for my mom. Unfortunately for us it was by-lingual document and Kay wasn't in a mood to do something she wasn't familiar with. Right away she refused, mentioned that it can't be done. I have to ask her call to the Notary Hot Line for them to explain Kay that it CAN be done and HOW it should be done.
However, every step she got to take to notarize the signature, was a battle. Nothing wrong about having not enough experience in some issue, what was wrong- her attitude, unwillingness to learn something she didn't know in a way to give a good service to the bank customers.
My recommendation is - if you need notarization, be sure it is something simple and common, otherwise - don't bother yourself with this bank.
