Bryn Mawr Trust, originally established as The Bryn Mawr Trust Company on March 25, 1889, is a financial institution that has undergone significant changes and expansions throughout its history. In 1995, Bryn Mawr Trust changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The organization engaged in a series of acquisitions, including Continental Bank in East Norriton, Pennsylvania, in January 2015, First Keystone Bank in Media, Pennsylvania, in July 2010, and Davidson Trust Company in Devon, Pennsylvania, in May 2012. In December 2017, Bryn Mawr Trust acquired Royal Bank America located in Narberth, Pennsylvania. Ultimately, on January 1, 2022, Bryn Mawr Trust merged with Wilmington Savings Fund Society, Fsb, based in Wilmington, Delaware, marking a significant transition in its operational structure.
