Brimfield Bank was established on January 1, 1913, originally operating under the name Exchange State Bank of Brimfield. The institution underwent a significant name change on February 15, 1979, adopting the name Brimfield Bank. Over the years, Brimfield Bank experienced a series of mergers and relocations. The main office moved to Main Street in Brimfield, Illinois, on September 30, 1989, and later to 123 East Knoxville Street in Brimfield on June 1, 2009. In its later years, Brimfield Bank merged with Farmers & Mechanics Bank in Galesburg, Illinois, on July 1, 2016. The bank eventually became part of CBI Bank & Trust in Muscatine, Iowa, on February 6, 2021.
