Border State Bank

Border State Bank was established on August 9, 1935, in Greenbush, Minnesota, originally under the name Greenbush State Bank. In 1989, the bank's main office was relocated to Main Street in Greenbush. The institution underwent a name change to Border State Bank of Greenbush on January 1, 1995. In the following years, the bank expanded through acquisitions, including First National Bank in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, on May 12, 2003, and Border State Bank in Roseau, Minnesota, later that same year on August 11. This was also the date when the institution adopted the name Border State Bank. It continued its growth with further acquisitions, including Border State Bank of International Falls in December 2005 and First Advantage Bank in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, in October 2016. In October 2018, Border State Bank acquired First State Bank of Clearbrook in Clearbrook, Minnesota. Following a series of changes, the bank's main office was moved to 133 Main Street North, Greenbush, Minnesota, on May 7, 2007. On June 15, 2020, the institution was renamed Border Bank, and on December 7, 2020, it merged with Border Bank in Fargo, North Dakota.
