History Of Blackhawk Bank & Trust
Blackhawk Bank & Trust is a financial institution that was established on June 28, 1961, originally under the name Blackhawk State Bank. On April 23, 1973, the institution changed its name to Blackhawk State Bank. Over the years, Blackhawk Bank & Trust has expanded through several acquisitions, including the purchase of Valley Bank of Coal Valley in Coal Valley, Illinois, in 1987. In 2008, the bank adopted its current name, Blackhawk Bank & Trust, and changed its trust powers to full on January 2 of that year. Subsequently, it acquired Great River Bank & Trust in Davenport, Iowa, on May 19, 2008. The bank continued its growth with the government-assisted merger with Country Bank in Aledo, Illinois, on October 14, 2011.
