Benefit Bank was established on November 30, 1999, as a financial institution headquartered in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Initially, it operated under the name Benefit Bank and was regulated by various agencies during its history. On July 21, 2011, its primary federal regulatory agency changed to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On June 11, 2014, Benefit Bank transitioned to a commercial bank organization type, became a state-chartered bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Ultimately, on May 23, 2015, Benefit Bank merged with Armstrong Bank, continuing its operations under the new name in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
