Beneficial State Bank is a community development bank that was established on June 27, 2007, originally under the name OneCalifornia Bank, Fsb. The institution underwent a significant rebranding on July 25, 2014, changing its name to Beneficial State Bank and adjusting its regulatory status and classification to a state-chartered commercial bank. Prior to this change, the bank had been regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Beneficial State Bank aimed to impact communities by reinvesting in local economies. In December 2010, it acquired ShoreBank Pacific based in Ilwaco, Washington, and later, it acquired Pan American Bank located in Los Angeles, California, on June 18, 2016. The bank further expanded by acquiring Albina Community Bank in Portland, Oregon, on February 1, 2018. Throughout its history, Beneficial State Bank has focused on promoting social justice and supporting economically disadvantaged communities.
