Belmont Savings Bank, originally established as Belmont Federal Savings and Loan Association in January 1915, has undergone several significant changes throughout its history. On July 21, 2011, the bank transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The bank's main office relocated to 210 Park Street in Belmont, North Carolina, on two separate occasions, first on August 23, 2013, and again on July 2, 2015.
