History Of BayCoast Bank
BayCoast Bank, originally established as Union Savings Bank on November 15, 1851, is a community bank based in Massachusetts. The institution first operated without Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance until it became insured on June 18, 1985. Over the years, it underwent several name and structural changes, including rebranding to Citizens-Union Savings Bank on October 28, 1983, following the acquisition of Citizens Savings Bank in Fall River, Massachusetts on the same day. The bank changed its name again to Union Savings Bank on July 8, 1974. In 1998, it transitioned to a Stock Savings Bank. A significant event occurred in 2011 when BayCoast Bank acquired the Bank of Fall River, which was a co-operative bank located in Fall River. The institution adopted its current name, BayCoast Bank, on January 17, 2012, coinciding with a move of its main office to 30 Bedford Street in Fall River. Subsequently, on March 30, 2016, the main office was relocated to 330 Swansea Mall Drive in Swansea, Massachusetts.
