Banner Bank is a commercial bank that was established in 1890 as First Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and structural reorganizations, including becoming First Federal Savings Bank of Washington in 1988 and then First Savings Bank of Washington in 1991. In 1995, it shifted from a mutual to a stock savings bank. The bank adopted its current name, Banner Bank, on October 30, 2000, coinciding with its change to a state-chartered bank. Since then, Banner Bank has expanded significantly through numerous acquisitions, including Seaport Citizens' Bank in Lewiston, Idaho, in 1999 and Towne Bank in Woodinville, Washington, also in 2000. Other notable acquisitions include Siuslaw Bank in Florence, Oregon, in 2015; AmericanWest Bank in Spokane, Washington; and Skagit Bank in Burlington, Washington, both in 2018. More recently, Banner Bank acquired AltaPacific Bank in Santa Rosa, California, in November 2019 and Islanders Bank in Friday Harbor, Washington, in February 2021. My bank here in Grass Valley has hired all new personnel with NO experience. The service is now terrible, and the employees know nothing. I bought a 12 plex they sent me a letter saying they would loan with 25% down. I had 30% down ready. Then they said they wanted more with no reason.
