History Of Bankwest of Kansas
Bankwest of Kansas is a financial institution that has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. Originally established on January 1, 1929, as The Goodland State Bank in Goodland, Kansas, the bank underwent its first name change to Goodland State Bank on April 18, 1945. By August 14, 1972, the bank relocated its main office to 922-24 Main Street in Goodland and adopted the name Goodland State Bank and Trust Company. The institution continued to evolve, becoming BankWest on January 22, 1990. In November 1995, BankWest acquired BankWest in Saint Francis, Kansas, further expanding its operations. On June 21, 2000, the institution changed its name to Bankwest of Kansas. Shortly thereafter, on December 8, 2000, it acquired The Citizens State Bank located in Keenesburg, Colorado.
