History Of BankTennessee
BankTennessee, originally established as the First Federal Savings and Loan Association on October 1, 1934, has undergone several organizational changes throughout its history. In March 1992, it changed its name to First Federal Bank, FSB and transitioned to a stock savings bank. The organization further evolved on July 1, 1997, when it adopted the name BankTennessee, switched to a commercial bank designation, and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, with its primary federal regulatory agency changed to the Federal Reserve. That year also marked a relocation of the main office to 354 New Byhalia Road in Collierville, Tennessee. Subsequent moves included relocating the main office to 150 East Court Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 2, 1997, and then to its current location at 1125 West Poplar Avenue in Collierville, Tennessee, on September 25, 2000.
