History Of BankLiberty

BankLiberty was established on December 5, 1955, originally named Liberty Savings Association. Over the ensuing decades, the institution underwent numerous changes, including multiple name changes and regulatory modifications. In 1990, it was renamed Liberty Savings Bank, then became Liberty Savings Bank, F.S.B. in 1995 when it also transitioned to a stock savings and loan organization. The name was changed to BankLiberty on July 21, 2006. On April 30, 2010, the bank acquired Champion Bank in Creve Coeur, Missouri, as part of a government-assisted merger, following further acquisitions of Farley State Bank in Parkville, Missouri, in 2008, and Patriots Bank in Liberty, Missouri, in 2013. On June 17, 2015, BankLiberty changed its regulatory status to a commercial bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank was subsequently acquired by Lawson Bank in Lawson, Missouri, on May 5, 2018. Following a series of mergers, BankLiberty was ultimately merged into Central Bank of the Midwest on December 7, 2019, and became part of The Central Trust Bank in Jefferson City, Missouri, on October 1, 2021.
