BankESB, originally established as Easthampton Savings Bank on February 10, 1869, is a financial institution that has undergone several name changes and regulatory adjustments throughout its history. The bank became FDIC insured on September 5, 1985, and modified its institution name to Easthampton Savings Bank again on July 2, 1973. On October 1, 2008, the organization type changed to a stock savings bank, and it adopted a new name, Easthampton Savings Bank. In a significant regulatory shift, on November 16, 2012, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, reclassifying itself as a state-chartered bank. The bank expanded its operations with the acquisition of The Citizens National Bank in Putnam, Connecticut, on June 30, 2015.
