History Of Bankers Trust Company
Bankers Trust Company is a financial institution that was established on June 1, 1917, originally operating under the name Bankers Trust Company. Over the decades, the institution underwent several significant changes and acquisitions. On November 15, 1999, the institution changed its name to Bankers Trust Company, National Association, and subsequently transitioned its regulatory oversight to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In 2009, Bankers Trust Company withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), with its chartering agency switching to state oversight. That same year, on December 31, it rebranded itself back to Bankers Trust Company. The bank also expanded its operations by acquiring Bankers Trust Company, National Association in Phoenix, Arizona, on August 31 of the same year. The main office of the bank has moved several times, with significant relocations occurring in 1975, 2000, and 2007, leading to its current location at 453 7th Street, Des Moines, Iowa, as of June 6, 2007.
