BANK VI

Bank VI, originally established as The Citizens State Bank in 1909, has undergone several name changes and organizational shifts throughout its history. The institution was renamed Bank VI on May 14, 2008, following a previous name change in 2005. In 2005, the main office was relocated to 2020 South Ohio Street in Salina, Kansas, and earlier in its history, in 1985, it had moved to Main Street in Geneseo, Kansas. On January 20, 2009, Bank VI changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a member of the Federal Reserve System as a state chartered bank. The main office was subsequently moved to 1900 South Ohio Street in Salina on November 23, 2009. On June 16, 2018, Bank VI merged with The Plains State Bank in Plains, Kansas, and was integrated into this institution. Most recently, on June 20, 2023, the name was changed to Bank of the Plains, reflecting its current identity.
