History Of Bank Star
Bank Star, originally established as American Security Bank of Pacific on January 15, 1975, has undergone several name changes and regulatory modifications throughout its history. The institution became Commerce Bank of Pacific on February 27, 1980, and then adopted the name Commerce Bank of Pacific, National Association on June 28, 1985, at which point it also became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its chartering agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On March 24, 1987, the bank changed its name to Pacific National Bank. In 1993, the bank rebranded as Security Pacific Bank and moved its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System the same year. Further changes occurred when the institution adopted the name Bank Star on May 15, 2000, and moved its main office to 1999 West Osage Street in Pacific, Missouri, on February 27, 2004. Most recently, on August 27, 2018, Bank Star acquired the Bank of Hillsboro located in Hillsboro, Missouri.
