Bank OZK, originally established as Newton County Bank on March 3, 1903, has undergone several transformations and expansions throughout its history. The institution changed its name to Bank of the Ozarks in 1999, marking a significant rebranding for the bank. Over the following years, Bank of the Ozarks pursued an aggressive growth strategy, acquiring several banks across various states, including River Valley Bank in Arkansas in 2003 and Sun Bank in Texas in 2004, among others. This bank is worthless. Dealing with the Harrison, AR branch for 2 years now trying to release our deceased father's funds. Have a court order signed by a judge, death certificate, proof we are family, & listed as agent on the account & they still are giving us the run around. Everything has been handled legally till you get to the bank & they start making up their own set of rules. Worst bank eve... Read more
