Bank of The Rockies, originally established as The First National Bank of White Sulphur Springs on August 1, 1883, has undergone several significant transformations throughout its history. On September 11, 1978, the main office was relocated to 205 West Main Street in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. The institution was renamed The First National Bank of The Rockies on April 24, 1998. Subsequently, on March 21, 2001, it rebranded itself as Bank of The Rockies, National Association. In a notable shift on November 15, 2019, the bank changed its name to simply Bank of The Rockies, adjusted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and transitioned to a state-chartered bank that is not a member of the Federal Reserve System. This date also marked the bank's withdrawal from Federal Reserve System membership.
