History Of Bank of the Prairie

Bank of the Prairie was established on January 1, 1914, originally operating under the name The First National Bank of Beattie. Throughout its history, the bank underwent several significant changes. On December 17, 1979, it changed its name to Marshall County Bank of Beattie and transitioned to a state-chartered bank, no longer a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank's trust powers were expanded in 1984, and shortly thereafter, the main office was relocated to 722 Main Street in Beattie, Kansas. After a further shift in trust powers in 1992, the bank rebranded itself as Bank of the Prairie on May 31, 2002. In 2003, the main office moved again to 18675 West 151st Street in Olathe, Kansas. On April 25, 2020, Bank of the Prairie merged with Country Club Bank, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, marking the end of its independent operations.
