History Of Bank of Ripley
The Bank of Ripley was established on July 14, 1939, under its original name, the Bank of Ripley. Following its establishment, the institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System on July 24, 1945, and was classified as a state-chartered bank within that system. Over the years, the regulatory oversight of the bank changed; on May 14, 1976, it transitioned to being governed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, while also adopting the designation of a state-chartered bank not part of the Federal Reserve System. On the same day, the institution changed its name to Bank of Ripley. The bank later modified its trust powers to limited status on January 5, 1993.
