History Of Bank of Rantoul
The Bank of Rantoul is a financial institution established on November 25, 1920, originally named Fowler State Bank. The bank underwent a significant name change on February 21, 1962, adopting the name Bank of Rantoul. Over the years, the bank has experienced various regulatory changes and nances. On July 18, 2000, it transitioned to a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve (FED). However, on June 12, 2013, the bank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, changing its classification to a state-chartered bank not affiliated with the Federal Reserve, while simultaneously changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In 1999, the Bank of Rantoul expanded its operations by acquiring the First National Bank of Rossville in Rossville, Illinois. Additionally, it gained full trust powers on May 10, 1974.
