History Of Bank of New Mexico
The Bank of New Mexico was established on June 16, 1947, originally named Grants State Bank. In 1949, it underwent significant changes, becoming a state-chartered bank and withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System, while also changing its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). On July 1, 2014, the institution changed its name to Bank of New Mexico. The bank's main office was relocated to 824 West Santa Fe Avenue in Grants, New Mexico, on January 1, 1991. The Bank of New Mexico ultimately merged with Tbk Bank, Ssb on September 8, 2018, and thereafter ceased to operate as an independent entity.
