History Of Bank of Nebraska

The Bank of Nebraska was established on July 25, 1974, initially operating under its original name, Bank of Nebraska. The bank changed its name to Bank of Nebraska on March 31, 1978, and subsequently moved its main office to 7223 South 84th Street in La Vista, Nebraska, on August 14, 1978. Over the years, the institution underwent several regulatory changes, including a transition to a Federal Reserve System member on January 21, 2005. However, on the same day, it also changed its classification to a state-chartered bank. Subsequently, the bank withdrew from the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on March 16, 2005. In 1993, the Bank of Nebraska acquired the Bank of Nebraska-Omaha located in Omaha, Nebraska. Ultimately, on May 6, 2017, the Bank of Nebraska merged with Access Bank in Omaha, Nebraska, effectively concluding its independent operations.
