The Bank of Maringouin was established on October 1, 1903, in Maringouin, Louisiana. Over the years, it underwent several changes, including the relocation of its main office on August 3, 1970, to a site at Pecan Drive and State Highway 77 in Maringouin. Subsequently, on March 31, 2006, the main office was moved again to 11070 State Highway 77 in Maringouin. The institution continued to operate until it merged with Guaranty Bank and Trust Company, based in New Roads, Louisiana, on March 23, 2015. Following this merger, the Bank of Maringouin ceased to exist as an independent entity.
