The Bank of Fairfield was established in 1908 and initially served the financial needs of the Fairfield, Washington community. Over the years, the bank underwent several significant changes, including a relocation of its main office to various addresses within Fairfield. On January 3, 1989, the main office was moved to Main Street, and again on January 3, 2002, it relocated to 213 Main Street. The Bank of Fairfield eventually merged with Inland Northwest Bank on October 17, 2015, based in Spokane, Washington. This merger was followed by another on November 10, 2018, when the institution became part of First Interstate Bank, headquartered in Billings, Montana.
