The Bank of Chestnut was established on January 1, 1902, originally serving the community of Chestnut, Illinois. Over the years, the bank underwent several relocations, with its main office moving to Main Street in Chestnut on December 30, 1989. Subsequently, on March 31, 2006, the main office was relocated to 100 Olive Street in Chestnut. The Bank of Chestnut continued to operate until it merged with Longview Community Bank, located in Mount Pulaski, Illinois, on May 31, 2023, marking the end of its independent operations.
