The Bank of Blue Valley was established on January 4, 1871, under the original name of The Morrill and Janes Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and expansions through acquisitions, becoming a significant player in the regional banking landscape. In 1967, it adopted the name The Morrill and Janes Bank and Trust Company and later changed its institution name again to Bank of Blue Valley on May 10, 2019, following its acquisition of the original Bank of Blue Valley in Overland Park, Kansas, on the same date. The bank's main office moved several times, including a relocation to 11935 Riley Street in Overland Park in August 2019.
