History Of Bank of Arkansas
Bank of Arkansas was established on August 16, 1991, under the original name Citizens Bank of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The institution changed its name to Citizens Bank of Northwest Arkansas, National Association on December 15, 1995, and simultaneously became a member of the Federal Reserve System, with its primary federal regulatory agency being the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. On May 1, 1997, the bank was renamed Bank of Arkansas, National Association. Following a series of developments, including acquiring Northwest National Bank on August 16, 1991, and enhancing its trust powers to full status on June 7, 1995, the bank eventually merged with BOK Financial Corporation. On January 1, 2011, Bank of Arkansas officially changed its institution name to BOKF, National Association, and became part of BOKF in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
