Bank Mutual

Bank Mutual is a financial institution with a history dating back to its establishment on August 14, 1940, originally named Mutual Savings and Loan Association of Wisconsin. Over the years, the organization underwent several name changes and structural transformations. In 1989, it became Mutual Savings Bank of Wisconsin, Savings Association, and in 1992, it was renamed simply Mutual Savings Bank while also changing its organization type to a mutual savings bank. The bank's transition continued in the 2000s; it changed its name to Bank Mutual on March 16, 2003, coinciding with the acquisition of First Northern Savings Bank in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It subsequently relocated its main office to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and in 2000, altered its organizational structure to a stock savings bank. Following further regulatory changes, in 2011, the bank changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In 2014, Bank Mutual changed its organization type again to a mutual savings bank and continues to operate under that designation today.
