History Of Bank First
Bank First, originally established as the First National Bank in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on January 1, 1894, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions over its long history. In 1971, the bank acquired the State Bank of Francis Creek and moved its main office to 202 North 8th Street, Manitowoc. The bank's name was changed to Bank First National in November 2007, reflecting its growth and evolution. Over the years, Bank First expanded its operations through strategic acquisitions, including Dairy State Bank in December 1999, St. Nazianz State Bank in October 1985, and First National Bank in Waupaca in October 2017. In 2018, the institution further solidified its identity by changing its name to Bank First, N.A., and shifting its trust powers to none. Subsequent acquisitions included Partnership Bank in Cedarburg in July 2019, Timberwood Bank in Tomah in May 2020, and Denmark State Bank in Denmark in August 2022.
