BancFirst is a financial institution that was established on April 1, 1989, originally under the name BancFirst. Over the years, BancFirst has undergone significant growth primarily through numerous acquisitions of various banks throughout Oklahoma. The institution's name change to BancFirst was officially recorded on January 24, 2014, alongside the acquisition of The Bank of Union in El Reno, Oklahoma. BancFirst rejoined the Federal Reserve System as a member on August 11, 2023, transitioning its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and changing its status to a state-chartered bank. The bank has expanded its operations through acquisitions, including The First National Bank and Trust Company of Vinita in May 2021 and several other banks from the late 1990s onwards. Worst financial institution I've ever used. The Truck Shop of Okemah forced this bank on me for my auto loan instead of letting me use my credit union or personal bank, which should have been a red flag. They dinged my credit within 7 days of signing, instead of the 30 days you're allotted. Then, they couldn't get my title back within the 30 days due to them not filing with the state on time. They... There phone is always busy if you leave a message they never return your call. Almost 3 months trying to close out a deceased account and they give you nothing but a run around. They send the the wrong papers and they don't keep in touch it's like there trying to keep the money for themselves. Im glad I don't bank in Fredrick OK.
