Axos Bank, originally established as Bank of Internet USA on July 4, 2000, underwent several name changes and regulatory adjustments throughout its history. In October 2005, the main office was relocated to 12777 High Bluff Drive, Suite 100, San Diego, California. The institution changed its name to Bank of Internet USA on July 4, 2000, and later to Bofi Federal Bank on October 2, 2011. On July 21, 2011, it shifted its primary federal regulatory oversight to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
