Avenue Bank was originally established on September 8, 1911, in Maury City, Tennessee, under the name Planters Bank of Maury City. The institution initially focused on trust powers, which were fully granted beginning on the same day of its establishment. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes; it became Planters Bank of Tennessee on March 26, 2004, and was renamed Avenue Bank on March 20, 2007. That year, the bank also relocated its main office to 111 10th Avenue South, Suite 400, Nashville, Tennessee, enhancing its presence in an urban environment. On July 1, 2016, Avenue Bank merged with Pinnacle Bank, also located in Nashville, Tennessee, marking the end of Avenue Bank's operations as a separate entity.
