Austin Bank, Texas National Association, was established on October 1, 1900, originally operating under the name The First National Bank of Jacksonville. Over the years, the bank has expanded through a series of acquisitions, significantly increasing its presence in the East Texas region. In 1989, it acquired Troup Bank & Trust Company in Troup, Texas. The bank continued its growth in the late 1990s, acquiring multiple entities including Austin Bank, Rusk, Texas on March 15, 1999, followed by Austin Bank, National Association in Longview, Texas and Austin Bank, Big Sandy, Texas on April 12, 1999. On May 10, 1999, it further acquired Austin Bank, Whitehouse, Texas, National Association. The institution underwent a name change to Austin Bank, Texas National Association on April 1, 1996. In the early 2000s, Austin Bank took over First National Bank in Bullard, Texas on November 5, 2004, and City National Bank in Kilgore, Texas on February 16, 2008.
