Apple Bank is a financial institution that was established on April 17, 1863, originally named Harlem Savings Bank. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes and relocations. On May 16, 1983, the institution changed its name to Apple Bank for Savings, and again on December 31, 2023, it was rebranded as simply Apple Bank. Throughout its history, the bank has moved its main office multiple times, with significant relocations occurring on March 11, 1974, to 666 Third Avenue in New York City, and later to 222-230 Old Country Road, Garden City, New York, on October 12, 1988. Other notable office moves include the establishment of a new location at 1075 Central Avenue, Scarsdale, New York, on July 24, 1998, and the move to its current main office location at 122 East 42nd Street, New York, New York, on June 16, 2020. My 91 year old mother, who has dementia, asked me to cash a check for $100 so she could use the money for Sunday Mass collection. I wrote out the check in my name and endorsed it, with a memo line that said "cash for Mom". I had Mom sign the check. I went to the drive thru to cash the check.
