History Of Anchor Bank
Anchor Bank was established on January 1, 1907, originally named Aberdeen Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, the institution underwent several name and organizational structure changes. On September 1, 1990, it became known as Anchor Mutual Savings Bank and switched to a mutual savings bank organization type. The main office moved to 120 North Broadway in Aberdeen, Washington, on June 30, 1984. On January 25, 2011, Anchor Mutual Savings Bank changed its name to Anchor Bank and transitioned to a stock savings bank organization type. Subsequently, on October 23, 2008, the main office relocated to the same address in Aberdeen. Ultimately, on November 15, 2018, Anchor Bank merged with and became part of 1st Security Bank of Washington, based in Mountlake Terrace, Washington.
