History Of Amfirst Bank

Amfirst Bank, originally established as The First National Bank of Hayes Center in 1905, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. On October 2, 1989, the institution was renamed Amfirst Bank, National Association, following the acquisition of American State Bank in McCook, Nebraska, and the main office was relocated to 602 West 'B' Street, McCook. In 2000, Amfirst Bank expanded by acquiring Park National Bank in Estes Park, Colorado, followed by the acquisition of State Bank in Benkelman, Nebraska, in 2006. Continuing its evolution, on December 15, 2015, the bank changed its name to Amfirst Bank, transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and opted out of the Federal Reserve System, becoming a state-chartered bank. Ultimately, on July 1, 2017, Amfirst Bank merged with Pinnacle Bank, based in Lincoln, Nebraska.
