Awful Bank... They do not protect your money from fraud, then turn around and do not return your money after fraud has happened.
I have had a bad experience with the Ameris Bank on Roswell Road in Buckhead. I went in 3 times to open a business account. The first time I went a teller or customer service person sitting at a desk told Lacarol Wood, Branch Service Manager to help me. Lacarol Wood didn't say anything to me but just pointed me with her finger to Marcelo Bustamante in another office. I could tell that she and another woman sitting outside of the teller window were laughing. Marcelo Bustamante said they were closing in 15 minuts and I would have to come back. I went back a second time and Mr. Bustamante said he needed a phone bill with my address on it. I went back a week later for the third time to take it in, but he was off that day. The same unprofessional, don't give a darn branch manager Lacarol Wood, said she could not take my information because she was working on a report and that I would have to wait at least 25 minutes.
After 3 attempts to get someone to help me at the Ameris Bank in Buckhead, I became frustrated, and I left and went to another Ameris bank on Piedmont Road and opened a business account with no issues at first. Some days after I opened the account, my account was flagged twice for fraud because of the business address. I received 2 phone calls about my business address which I told them was valid, and finally had to give my home address which I do not use for business. Also trying to reach someone at these 2 branches was almost impossible. It was very inconvenient that my card was blocked.
Branch Service Manager Lacarol Wood does not deserve this position. She is rude, unfriendly, unprofessional and uncaring. Keep in mind this is a high end high income professional area in which Ameris is located and I am the CEO of my company. Most of the people at the Buckhead Branch do not fit the class of the area and are in cliques that uphold each others wrong behavior.
Remember that the Roman Empire fell from within!
I have been talking with Ronda Johns for many a years about my account which I got behind on because I was on life support 5 years ago. It was ready to go to collections but she told me by paying 2 months at that time and to extend my loan by 2 months. It would bring up to date. Now that I ask for a pay off. Which is less when $3900.00 they want a $900.00 ballon payment which takes my pay off up to $4500.00. This bank are nothing but rip - offs stay away !!!
I have account with the Ameris Bank in Buena Vista GA and have had it for a few years now and everytime I look someone has taken my money. So I open up a saving to try to protect my money but little did I know that I was going to get hit with a service charge for a 156.00 at once. So i'm very upset with the bank. I was really trying to stay one of their customer but I dont need to go and get a new bank card every week because some one is taken my money.
It is incredibly frustrating not to be able to call the people at the bank directly with questions only they would be familiar with. The wait on the automated line is very long and then the identifying process another time frustration. I'm not even That old but find the system overburdened in technology not practicality. That said, I love the personnel at the downtown Drayton Street branch.
Jennifer is a great person, opened my account, been with her since it was hamilon bank... Great banker.
10 minutes for someone to answer the phone. C'mon.
