HISTORY OF AMERICAN TRUST BANK OF EAST TENNESSEE
American Trust Bank of East Tennessee was established on February 5, 2004. The institution began operations in the Knoxville, Tennessee area, where it moved its main office several times during its existence. On August 1, 2005, the bank relocated its main office to 5426 Homberg Drive in Knoxville, Tennessee. Subsequently, on June 29, 2007, the main office was moved again to 6771 Baum Drive, also in Knoxville. After over a decade of service, American Trust Bank of East Tennessee merged with Citizens Bank in Elizabethton, Tennessee, on December 2, 2016, thus ceasing to operate as an independent entity.
