American City Bank was established on July 1, 1974, originally under the name American City Bank of Tullahoma in Tullahoma, Tennessee. On October 18, 1977, the institution changed its trust powers to full. The name was subsequently altered to American City Bank on January 2, 2017. A significant transition occurred on July 31, 2017, when American City Bank merged with FirstBank, headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
