History Of American Bank
American Bank, National Association, is a financial institution that has undergone several name changes and acquisitions since its establishment. Founded on August 24, 1970, as American National Bank, the institution initially operated under this name until it evolved to American National Bank - South in July 1985. In November 1989, it acquired the American National Bank of Corpus Christi, prompting a rebranding to American National Bank. Further changes included a relocation of the main office to 100 American Bank Plaza in Corpus Christi, Texas, that same month. The bank's name was modified to American Bank, National Association, on January 2, 1996. A significant transition occurred in May 2001 when the bank changed its trust powers to full status. In December 2006, American Bank acquired the First National Bank of Goliad and relocated its main office to 711 North Carancahua Street, Corpus Christi, Texas. Later that month, it continued its rebranding efforts by adopting its current name. The main office moved again on December 31, 2018, to 800 North Shoreline Boulevard, Suite 200 S, Corpus Christi, Texas.
