I made a payment to Fort Bend County on the county's website to pay my real estate taxes using "e-check" for "ACH" using Amegy Bank's routing number and my personal checking account number. Somehow, the Amegy Bank personnel or the Bank programming setup, it was directed to the "Bill Pay" system which said that additional time needed and required a resubmittal and rescheduling. After personally vising the bank on Saturday March 25, 2023 and spending frustrating more than 30 minutes, there was no acceptable answer other than telling me that may be there is a daily limit on money transfer - need more time, redo the payment to Fort Bend County etc. The Bank Manager called to explain on Match 28, 2023 around 4:30 PM not really coming up with acceptable answer other than "Bill Pay" requires more time. I explained Mutiple times that I did not use the Amegy Bank Bill Pay, it was using For Bend County's website and paid using a e-check' via ACH method. It is clear that the system at the Amegy Bank needs some attention so that this does not repeat and "ACH" payments are not directed by system or Bank personnel to their "Bill Pay" system then rejecting the payment!
After nearly 17 years of doing business with the Amegy Bank Katy (TX) branch, I was advised bank officers were closing my account after I struggled for two years to stay solvent during the Covid 19 debacle. Unfortunately, I had several notices of "insufficient funds) during that time due to a seriously reduced income (although EVERY check was covered quickly AS WELL AS the fee for "insufficient funds" paid EACH AND EVERY time. My inability to foresee how much (or how little) I might be able to deposit into my bank made it difficult for me to keep this account continuously solvent. I attempted to stop automatic payments to debts, but was told I couldn't. The steady withdrawal of funds was sinking my dwindling account, but Amegy had no ideas for assisting me! With nearly every other business in America trying to accommodate those affected by Covid, Amegy Bank was driving the truck to the poorhouse and then closing an individual's account two days after Christmas when the owner of that account had only FOUR DAYS to find a way to pay — in a timely fashion — every account not located in the same city (which is to say nearly 78% of my due-and-payable accounts). What a lousy way to treat customer, ESPECIALLY a long-term customer.
This has to be the best bank that I have ever done business with the employees are nice and very helpful. Couldn't ask for a better place to do my banking!!
We have a business account here and they are not very experienced - we lost a job due to lack of support - I think good as a personal bank but poor as a business bank
Best customer service around. Especially Sherry Roberts.
Nicest and friendliest bank in town. Love doing business there. They even give my dog treats!
Very rude service. Asked for help operating coin counting machine. I'm 70 and don't hear well and told her so. Very condescending and couldn't understand why I couldn't figure it out. They are other banks
