History Of Amboy Bank
Amboy Bank, established on May 12, 1888, originally operated under the name First National Bank South Amboy. Throughout its history, the bank underwent several name changes and relocations. In 1960, it changed its name to First National Bank South Amboy-Madison Township, and shortly thereafter, the main office moved to Highway 9 and Ernston Road in Madison Township. In 1963, the institution was renamed Amboy-Madison National Bank. Subsequent relocations occurred in 1976 when the main office moved to Highway 9 and Ernston Road in Old Bridge Township. In December 1991, the bank acquired Amboy National Bank and subsequently changed its name to Amboy National Bank, with its main office again relocating. In February 2008, Amboy National Bank restructured by changing its name to Amboy Bank, modifying its regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, and becoming a state-chartered bank. The main office then moved to 3590 U.S. Highway 9 in Old Bridge, New Jersey. On June 2, 2010, the main office was moved again to 3590 New Jersey Highway 9 South in Old Bridge, where it continues to operate today.
