History Of Alpine Bank & Trust
Alpine Bank & Trust was established on June 25, 1962, originally named Alpine State Bank. The bank underwent several name changes throughout its history, becoming Alpine Bank of Illinois on June 6, 1989. On October 11, 1983, the main office was relocated to 1700 North Alpine Road in Rockford, Illinois. In 1994, Alpine Bank & Trust acquired The Valley Bank of Illinois, further expanding its operations. The institution transitioned to a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System on May 16, 2008. Subsequently, on July 11, 2008, it acquired The Belvidere National Bank and Trust Company and changed its name to Alpine Bank & Trust Co. On July 12, 2008, it changed its trust powers to full. Finally, on July 14, 2018, Alpine Bank & Trust merged with Midland States Bank, based in Effingham, Illinois, marking the end of its independent operation.
