History Of Alliance Bank
Alliance Bank is a financial institution that was established on June 16, 1927, originally under the name Sulphur Springs State Bank. It became a member of the Federal Reserve System on May 25, 1940, when it changed its regulatory agency and bank class to a State Chartered Bank that was part of the Federal Reserve System. Over the years, Alliance Bank underwent several changes, including a withdrawal from the Federal Reserve System on May 7, 1996, after which it reclassified as a State Chartered Bank not a member of the Federal Reserve. The bank adopted its current name, Alliance Bank, on October 15, 1996. Throughout its history, Alliance Bank has expanded through acquisitions, including The Wolfe City National Bank in 1993, American National Bank of Greenville in 1990, and Colonial Bank of Greenville in 1996. Most recently, on March 6, 2019, the bank acquired The First National Bank of Mount Vernon. As part of its operational changes, the bank moved its main office to 100 Jefferson Street West in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on April 22, 2020.
