History Of Algonquin State Bank
Algonquin State Bank was established on March 3, 1902, under its original name, Algonquin State Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes in regulatory status and name. On April 1, 1997, the bank changed its name to Algonquin State Bank, National Association, and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, regulated by The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. In addition, the main office moved to 2400 Huntington Drive North, Algonquin, Illinois, on the same day. On October 16, 1978, it was granted full trust powers. However, on December 23, 2016, Algonquin State Bank transitioned to a state-chartered institution, withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The institution officially adopted its current name, Algonquin State Bank, on the same date.
