Adams Community Bank is a financial institution that was established on May 1, 1869, under the name South Adams Savings Bank. The institution initially operated without Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance until it became FDIC insured on July 24, 1985. On May 10, 1971, the bank changed its name to South Adams Savings Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several organizational changes, including a modification of its trust powers to limited on October 18, 2004. In a significant expansion, the bank acquired Adams Co-operative Bank on February 25, 2012, and simultaneously changed its name to Adams Community Bank.
